Red Tea Box
696 Queen West
Toronto, ON
416 203-8882
The restaurant is right next to the store called Magic Pony.

Ever heard of the Victorian term or High Tea? Red Tea Box is retro with a modern twist. I feel as though I should have worn something semi formal upon sitting in there, I'm sure comicbookguy has photos of the cutlery there that he can post. It's lovely china and tea sets that they've got. They had fancy table settings with lace trims and couch chairs with embroidery. You can choose to sit either in the tea house behind the cafe, or I suppose the patio when weather permits. The setting is incredibly lovely.

I loved the cakes inside their glass cases in the front!

I went during a fieldtrip with a professor to tour the galleries in the area.
What they served were:
melon water (it had green melon floating in the water!)
tea (I ordered chrysanthemum honey)
raspberry vinaigrette salad (I know salad is 'not' real food, but it was so FRESH)
sandwiches (each one came neatly cut into triangles)

I've heard the chicken sandwiches are delicious from other reviews online. If you're looking for elegance in the artistic do it yourself district of Queen Street West, or looking to throw a afternoon tea party, I believe this place is the place for you. It really reminds me of the Mad Hatters Tea Party, considering it's location.

The only downside is that it is a little pricey, but you can afford a full tea party since there are menu options for 'tea party' where everything is chosen out for you!

I wish I could find their official site, but I can't seem to google one.
