I spend so much on nails, nail polish, itty bitty gemstones and stickers on these things. But the moment I do sports, or any sort of menial task involving lifting, these things break like crazy. I can't even play ultimate frisbee with manicured nails!!!
Look, I want to face the truth now. Nails, are they only important to women, because they look cool? Or because of the never ending trend started off by the spice girls that have persisted to present day of having them done?
Do guys even care if a girl's nails are done or not?
Otherwise I guess these would make a good valentines gift?? Unless you celebrate it the korean/japanese/taiwanese way of girls giving gifts, and on white day, the dude gifts the girl back.
This is the site for some nail stuff, also available at splendid china tower @ wowow nails, go in through the main entrance, it should be on your right

as long as they're kept in decent condition i don't think it matters much. i mean shiny and glossy stuff look nice and catch my attention but i can't say that nails like the picture you've posted is exactly a deal breaker/maker for me...
I hate girls with colorful nails.
just keep it simple, clear coating or black. that's hot.
what about french manicures???

That girl has a fat middle finger.
Not to say she can't touch my penis.
Edit: please don't tell me that's a dude's hand.
Regarding my opinions on the matter:
Do manicured nails matter?
Most males would say no. In practical terms, manicured nails are troublesome to treat and maintain, if not useless.
This, I would criticize and say, "in practical terms then, fashion and aesthetics are similarly troublesome, if not useless." Entertainment and sports could also be lumped with this.
Philosophical debate on the subject aside. . .
Do they look cool? Personally, I find them aesthetically pleasing.
Do I care whether a girl's nails are done or not? I do notice them, of course. How I appraise them, depends on whether I know the girl or not.
Would they make a good Valentine's gift? That really depends on "who 'receives' it."
There's a whole culture on nail art. It's gone as far that there's actual Internet "Nail Art Galleries".
sports are not useless! sports builds character. can't say the same about the other crap you mentioned
why do some of these nails look like they're edible candy?

Sports build character but aesthetics and entertainment can't?
